4. How do I carry out a disciplinary procedure?
To avoid an 'unfair dismissal' claim by the employee, we would recommend following a legally compliant 4-5 step process for any disciplinary issue. This will include, amongst other things, an informal warning, written communication with the employee, further meetings and the opportunity for the employee to appeal.
Paramount HR can provide you with a 'user friendly' overview of the whole disciplinary process together with the specific letters you will need in order to ensure you do not fall foul of employment law. Once you have this procedure and documentation in place, it can obviously then be used in the future for similar situations, should the need arise.
We can also provide on-site training with your Line Managers if this is preferred.
